All these professionals must offer services related to the “business meetings industry”, also known as the MICE sector:
– Room rental
– Accommodations (hotels – bed & breakfasts – gîtes)
– Catering (restaurateurs – caterers)
– Additional technical services (sound and lighting – transport and transfers – event service providers)
– Incentives (packages will be offered by the local tourist office and event agencies specializing in business tourism)

Target : BtoB companies and agencies organizing professional events for groups of employees and/or customers.

Concerning restaurateurs:
In order to be promoted on the www.douaisis-events.com website, prospective restaurateurs must have a meeting room dedicated to meetings and seminars that can accommodate a minimum of 20 people in theater configuration – a room that must be separate from the usual dining room.
A CSR commitment is required: fight against food waste, surplus management, waste recovery, etc.; work mainly on short circuits for supplies.

Concerning caterers organizing receptions:

If the hotel, bed and breakfast or gite is independent, it must be affiliated with a recognized national federation label: Qualité tourisme – Tourisme handicap – Logis de France – Gites de France – Clé verte – Clé vacances – Bienvenue à la ferme…
– Bed and breakfasts must offer a minimum of 4 rooms at the same address
– Self-catering cottages must offer a minimum of 10 rooms at the same address
– And hotels must be registered with Atout France and be star-rated (from 1 to 5*).
Douaisis Agglo has the final say on whether or not a label is appropriate.

Concerning meeting rooms:
In order to be promoted on the www.douaisis-events.com website: rooms must be exposed to natural light with blackout systems; be equipped with work tables and comfortable chairs; be fitted with a video projector with screen or projection on a white wall; and participants must have access to secure high-speed wifi and power sockets (generally 1 for 3 people).
The premises must provide access to toilets, if possible, dedicated exclusively to the meeting room(s). Rooms must be set up according to the configuration requested by the customer, and be free of any equipment not relevant to the meeting.
Customers must be greeted by dedicated staff who will remain contactable and available in the event of a problem during the event. Coffee and breaks can be provided by a caterer from outside the host organization.
